GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATES DUSSEHRA

Celebrating festivals is an integral part of learning. Keeping up the tradition of celebrating festivals, Dussehra was celebrated by the students of Green Land Sr. Sec. Public School. Dussehra is a major Indian festival celebrated by the Hindus on the 10th day of Hindu calendar month of Ashwin. It also marks the end of Navratri festivities. Children came dressed up in ethnic clothes and made beautiful masks representing characters of Ramayana. Teachers also shared some valuable information about the festival, thus enhancing their learning. The Chairman, Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, lauded the efforts of the students and said that through such celebrations, students not only learn the significance behind the festival, but they also learn to embrace other traditions by culture. The Principal, Mrs Baldeep Pandher, said that the primary objective of the entire show was to convince the students that no matter how intelligent & wise a person is, his pride will always be the major reason for his downfall.

GREEN LAND SR. SEC. PUBLIC SCHOOL OBSERVED GLOBAL HANDWASHING DAY

October 15 is Global Handwashing Day, a global advocacy day dedicated to increase awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives. To promote hygiene among students, Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, held an activity, Global Handwashing Dance for students of grade Pre- Nursery to V on this day. The Chairman, Chain of Green Land Schools, Dr. Rajesh Rudhra, said that when students have access to clean water, soap and good sanitation facilities, they are less likely to drop out or miss classes due to illness. He further added that washing hands with soap is a key to keep kids healthy and disease free. The Principal, Mrs Baldeep Pandher, lauded the efforts of the students and said that it’s really important to celebrate such days and hygiene education give people the tools to stay healthy as in remote communities people suffer needlessly and even die from preventable and treatable diseases.
